What a Print Server
Really Costs
Patching
Monthly updates, spooler vulnerabilities and reboots that take every queue down with them.
Drivers
One driver package per model per OS, kept in sync across the server and every workstation.
GPO and scripts
Printer mappings by group and site that break every time someone moves desks.
VPN for remote staff
Home and branch workers need a tunnel to the office just to reach a print queue.
How AnyPrint Replaces It
Agent based,
outbound only
A small agent on each Windows or macOS device sends jobs to the cloud over an encrypted outbound connection. Nothing listens on your network, nothing needs a VPN, and a user at home prints to the office printer the same way as a user at their desk.
Driver library,
no packaging
Drivers come from the AnyPrint library or your own upload, and the agent installs them where they are needed. No print server share, no point-and-print policy.
Rules instead
of group policy
Printers deploy by network CIDR, WiFi SSID or hostname, or by user and workstation. Change a rule in the portal and every device follows it.
Secure release
on the printers you own
Jobs stay in the cloud until the user scans a QR code at the printer and enters a PIN. It works on any network printer AnyPrint manages, so you get pull printing without replacing hardware or adding card readers.
- QR code and PIN release at the printer
- Jobs never sit in an output tray
- Works with most network printer makes and models
Migration Path:
Coexist, Then Cut Over
Nothing has to move in one weekend. AnyPrint runs alongside the existing server until every printer and every user is across.
Install and add printers
Create your tenant, install the agent on a few pilot devices and add the network printers. The driver library handles most models; upload anything custom.
Coexist
Leave the existing server running. Move one site, department or printer group at a time with deployment rules, and keep the old queues as a fallback.
Cut over
Once every printer and user is on AnyPrint, remove the old queues, retire the server and close the VPN rules that only existed for printing.
What AnyPrint Does,
and What It Does Not
AnyPrint does
- Replaces Windows print servers for Windows and macOS devices
- Deploys drivers and printers by rule, user or workstation
- Holds jobs for QR code and PIN secure release
- Reports live toner levels and allocates costs by department, cost centre or client
- Supports USB printers connected to Windows computers running the AnyPrint agent
AnyPrint does not
- Run an agent on Linux or ChromeOS. Agents are Windows and macOS.
- Manage USB printers attached to Macs. USB printers are supported on Windows devices only.
- Provide card-reader release. Secure release uses a QR code and PIN at the printer.
- Replace a document management system. It manages print, not records.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on how AnySoft works, what it costs, and how it fits your setup.
No. AnyPrint runs alongside your existing print server. Move one site, group or printer at a time using deployment rules, and retire the server only when the last queue is gone.
Only the AnyPrint agent on each Windows or macOS device. It makes outbound-only encrypted connections to the cloud, so there are no inbound firewall rules, no VPN and no server to patch.
AnyPrint ships a driver library for common models and lets you upload your own. The agent installs the right driver on each device automatically, so there is no driver share or point-and-print policy to maintain.
Most network printers and MFPs across the common brands, plus USB printers connected to a Windows computer running the AnyPrint agent. With Intelligent Job Routing turned on, other people can print to that USB printer through the cloud while the computer is on and its agent is online.
AnyPrint is A$5 per user per month or A$7 per workstation per month, with no server licence, no setup fee and no contract. There is nothing to host or patch.
No. Users scan a QR code at the printer and enter a PIN. It works on the network printers you already own. AnyPrint does not use card readers.
